Priory Cottage
The Priory Cottage is a 19th century cottage set on ¾ of an acre on land that was part of the 12th century priory in Passavant-sur-Layon. It faces the chateau, which was originally built in the 11th century, located on the River Layon, famous for it's wines. The property was totally renovated during 2011 / 2012. We have modernised the interior whilst retaining the original features and charm.
The cottage has a large lounge on the ground floor, with an LCD flat screen TV and UK satellite dish. There is also a large, well equipped kitchen plus family / dining room. There are stairs up to the bathroom and two large bedrooms on the first floor. One bedroom has a kingsize bed and the other, two single beds.
In front of the cottage, there is a large south-facing courtyard with a terrace which has a view to the old fortifications of the chateau. To the rear of the cottage, overlooking fields and vines, the garden has a pool area, ideal for outdoor entertaining, with it's own BBQ, sun loungers and sun-umbrella.
